Generation SunSmart is a programme that saw 4,000 primary school children across Co. Sligo learn about being safe in the sun. The programme was led by Selene Daly, Dermatology Nurse Specialist at Sligo University Hospital, who travelled to all primary schools in Sligo between April and June 2016 to teach the children the 5 S’s of Sun Safety – SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, SLIDE, SHADE! Every child received a special UV legionnaire hat sponsored by Elave skincare, which they were encouraged to wear outdoors everyday between March 1st and September 30th.
Stillwater’s role was to promote the campaign both nationally and locally in Sligo. Generation SunSmart coverage included the Irish Times, Irish Daily Mail, Irish Examiner, Irish Daily Star, Sligo local print and broadcast, and culminated in a report from Sligo on RTÉ Six One News.
